The rounding above means your real riser is rarely the exact target. This is what the code-compliance chip checks against the 9.5" max.

Kit Base Price [VERIFY]

Base = Overhead(material) + n × $/riser(material) × Diameter Multiplier

Overhead covers the center pole, base plate and hardware; the per-riser rate covers each tread, baluster and rail segment. Both are estimates calibrated to published kit price ranges, not a single vendor's price list.

Total = Kit + Platform + Freight + Installation + Permit
